Well, a 300-hp model will always draw a lot of attention. There are no plenty of those crossovers available in the market today. Toyota Rav4 Prime needs a plug-in hybrid system to achieve so much power. Volkswagen does it with a special turbocharged configuration of the 2.0-liter petrol engine. Like the famous Golf hatchback, the 2023 VW Tiguan R is going to enhance its performance. Besides the power boost, there are plenty of other upgrades. The new transmission will handle the energy and send it probably to all wheels. Of course, other drivetrain parts need to revisit, including brakes and suspensions. Furthermore, the Tiguan R comes with special equipment, including lane-keep assistance, departure warning, signs recognition, unique Ambiental lighting, and many other state-of-art options.
2023 VW Tiguan Hybrid and Electric Drivetrain
The compact crossover needs a hybrid configuration to keep up with the competition. It is a reality. But, the German carmaker is yet to deliver it. A 2.0-liter engine is a perfect base for further upgrades. However, the final version is far away from production. Instead, the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan could become a fully electric vehicle, based on the ID concept. The company already started producing EVs for some markets. But, the release date for the US is not set yet. We need to find sources confirming details about the Tiguan hybrid and EV before speculating about the future.

This is something that is not going to happen in the US. Although the 2023 VW Tiguan will be 185 inches long, it would be too tight in the third row. Nevertheless, such a layout is available in some countries. For example, Tiguan Allspace offers seven seating spots to buyers in Australia. Also, there are more European crossovers available with the third row, such as Ford Kuga (Escape), Nissan Qashqai (Rogue), and Honda CR-V. Americans prefer comfort, so the Touareg remains the only VW model for larger families in the United States.

The new Volkswagen Tiguan 2022 crossover will not receive a massive variety in technical characteristics. Three petrol engines and three transmission options. There is only one drive for the crossover – the front. You should not expect any all-wheel movement, even in top trim levels.
The first two units will be petrol turbocharged for three cylinders, the TSI series. Both engines are 1.0 liters, but only with a capacity of 95 and 110 horses. A weaker version is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 110 horsepower engine goes with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG robot.
The top-end engine will be a turbocharged 4-cylinder TSI with a volume of 1.5 liters. The power will be 150 horses, and only a 7-speed preselective will work in pairs. Crossover Volkswagen Tiguan with a top-end engine can accelerate to a maximum of 212 km / h.
As mentioned earlier, the MQB-A0 platform served as the basis for the new Volkswagen Tiguan. Accordingly, the dimensions of the novelty differ minimally. There is no information about a hybrid or all-electric installation yet, and they’re probably won’t be since the company has ready-made analogs.

В России официально предлагались (до февральских событий) бензиновые модификации VW Tiguan с двигателями 1.5 TSI (130 и 150 л. с) и 2.0 TSI (190 и 220 л. с). Количество пакетов оснащения достигает шести:

В более дорогих версиях оснащения появляется подогрев заднего дивана, парктроник, виртуальная приборная панель, электропривод двери багажника и 18-дюймовые литые диски.

Когда будет доступен новый Volkswagen Tiguan, тот, который показывали во Франкфурте в России, достоверно неизвестно. Есть только приблизительные и обрывочные сведения на этот счет. Однако мы постарались их систематизировать, чтобы получить наиболее полную картину. Картина получилась монументальной, поскольку небольшой внедорожник представлен в 11 комплектациях на базе пока только двух бензиновых и одного дизельного двигателей. Цена самого недорогого Volkswagen Tiguan составит 1 159 000 рублей и за эти деньги можно купить автомобиль в комплектации Trend&Fun.
Шаловливое название говорит само за себя. Это будет только переднеприводный паркетник с 6-ступенчатой механикой и бензиновым 1,4-литровым двигателем на 122 силы. В салоне автомобиля можно будет найти климат-контроль, компьютер, и полный набор регулировок, подогревов, усилителей и сигнализаторов на все случаи жизни. За дополнительные 36 600 рублей официальный дилер в Москве установит датчики дождя и света, автономный предпусковой подогреватель, штатный парктроник и навигатор, легкосплавные диски и цвет металлик на выбор. Если добавить еще 12 тысяч, то на машине появится камера заднего вида.
Более продвинутый трендовый и веселый Volkswagen Tiguan будет стоить 1 293 000 рублей, но это будет совсем другой кроссовер. С новой коробкой передач DSG с двумя сцеплениями, 150-сильным бензиновым наддувным двигателем, но все с тем же передним приводом. Самый недорогой полноприводный Volkswagen Tiguan обойдется ы 1 333 000 рублей, но на нем будет установлена ручная 6-ступенчатая КПП.
Это были, грубо говоря, городские комплектации, а колхозники с полным приводом и 6-ступенчатым автоматом будут стоить уже от 1 500 000 рублей. На этой комплектации будет установлен бензиновый 170-сильный двухлитровый мотор, а по оснащению машина отличается от предыдущей комплектации адаптивными фарами, системой помощи при старте в гору и автоматическим ручным тормозом. Та же комплектация с дизельным двухлитровым 140-сильным мотором будет стоить 1 527 000. The color scheme is pleasing, the knobs and buttons are solid, and the doors close with a satisfying thud.The exterior of the Tiguan was updated for the 2022 model year by adding styling cues from the larger SUVs in the Volkswagen family, the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. The new low-slung bumper, broad grille and LED headlights give the Tiguan a more aggressive and muscular look. R-Line models (both SE and SEL) get even more stylish bumpers, along with body-colored side sills for an even more dynamic look.

The outputs make the Tiguan more than competitive in the compact crossover class. The gas mileage should be better. The vehicle returns 23/30 mpg. Leaders in this segment do 40+ miles per gallon with hybrid units. However, some rivals, such as Nissan Rogue, can provide 35 mpg combined with the conventional configuration. All-wheel drive is optional and Volkswagen is using the 8-speed automatic transmission. We can hear that their DSG gearbox is about to be updated. That is going to boost the interest in VW vehicles. Standard drive modes available for the Tiguan are Sport, Eco, Normal, and Custom. Additional packages will offer Off-Road and Snow modes.

At the very beginning, there is a small recess that serves as a wireless charger and a place to store small things. Next comes the automatic or manual transmission lever, the engine start button, and mechanical buttons for quick access to various crossover systems.
This whole set is completed by a mechanical handbrake, a cigarette lighter, and a pair of cup holders. A small armrest with a spacious compartment inside was installed between the seats for convenience. Now about the interior of the Volkswagen Tiguan. According to the standard, it is designed for five seats and nothing more. Since the novelty shares a platform with the VW Polo, this affects the skin and comfort of the car. The plastic on the doors turned hard, although it is very resistant to scratches.

The color of the interior is mostly grey. In the case of leather upholstery, the color combination is black and white or monotone black.
The last detail of the interior of the new Volkswagen Tiguan is the driver’s seat. According to the manufacturer, starting from the basic configuration, the car will receive a digital instrument panel based on an 8″ screen or a 10.25″ display for full versions.
Similarly, depending on the configuration, the design of the steering wheel will change. According to the standard, it is on two knitting needles, with functional buttons on both sides. By the way, the controls on the steering wheel are conventional, mechanical, not touch. The steering wheel will differ only for the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line. It has three spokes and paddle shifters. In general, the interior of the new Volkswagen Tiguan crossover looks good, everything you need, and there are no extra parts that you would have to overpay for. The manufacturer specifically did not use expensive materials, maintaining a relatively low cost.
